- Use the Website option to have Google scan your site. This will give you an idea of how the search engines see your site. Export the data into a spreadsheet to make it easier to work with. Do not use this entire list as keywords for your AdWords or PPC advertising.
- Enter keywords into the “Find Keyword” section to get a list of additional keywords for your account. Export this list and add them to your prior list of keywords. Do not enter single word keywords into this section. It is very rare that you want to spend money on a single word.
- Group your similar keywords together to make your AdGroups. Google likes these groups to be highly related. If you sell tables, chairs and dining sets don’t dump all those keywords into a single AdGroup. Keep the chairs with the chairs, the tables with the tables and the dining sets with the dining sets. You should even take it a step further and get more specific. Arm chairs or dining chairs should not be in the same group as folding chairs.
